If you’ve never tried false eyelashes before you probably have a lot of questions.

If you'd like to know how to apply false eyelashes or how to remove them, we’ve got the answers to those questions and many more. We wanted to explore some of the more commonly asked questions about false eyelashes and give you a rundown on everything you need to know, but were probably too afraid to ask!

How Do I Apply False Eyelashes?

It’s super easy to put on your false eyelashes, let us talk you through it.

The first step is applying some mascara to your natural eyelashes, this creates a ‘shelf’ that the falsies will rest on for support.

Make sure the false eyelashes are the right size by measuring them against your eye before cutting away any excess – do be sure to keep those pointy scissors away from your eyes though EEEK!!

Apply a thin line of glue across the strip of false eyelashes (not your own!) and wait for 50 seconds or so the glue is nice and tacky (just like your man’s ex) – sorry(!)

Using tweezers, place the extensions over your natural lash line in the centre. Press down to secure and then gently press down each corner but be sure to avoid getting too close to the tear duct.

Your first attempt at applying your new eyelashes might take a while, but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll find it’s quick and easy.

Should I Apply My False Eyelashes Before or After Makeup?

This one is purely down to whatever you prefer!

If you want to apply your false eyelashes as the finishing touch to your make-up – go ahead! If you prefer to put them on before applying your eye makeup so you can get blending your shadow and eyeliner into the lash band, that’s perfectly ok too!

I Messed Up and My False Eyelashes Aren’t on Straight – What Do I Do!

Don’t. Panic.

We’ve all managed to achieve the wonky look occasionally, so take a deep breath and relax – you can fix this falsie mistake.

Pop some eyeliner over the top of the false eyelashes and get blending! Honestly, it works!

If your lashes are slipping around too much you haven’t waited long enough for the eyelash glue to become tacky, so wait a little longer next time. 50 seconds is our recommended time.

How Do I Remove My Eyelashes At the End of the Night?

Good news! False eyelashes are easier to remove than put on, so if you managed to apply them ok you can take them off again.

Starting at the outer corner of your eye, gently peel off the strip of lashes in one smooth and steady movement.

That’s it!

Once they’re off, remove the adhesive from the band and place the strip back in its tray for safe storage.

Can I Wear My False Eyelashes to Bed?

We know it’s tempting after a long night to just crawl into bed and deal with things in the morning, but you should never go to bed in your falsies, ok?

Sleeping in them can pull them off or cause them to permanent crease, lose their shape and damage them permanently. Meaning you can’t wear them again!

So, make sure you take them off before you hit the bedsheets, it’ll only take a few minutes to put them on again in the morning!

How Many Times Can I Wear My False Eyelashes Before I Need to Replace Them?

Our falsies can be worn 20-25 times before they need replacing.

But this depends on how well you take care of them too. Taking the extra time to ensure all the eyelash glue is removed properly and storing them properly in their tray goes a long way in extending their lifespan.

Help! My Eyes Look Red and Irritated When I Wear Fake Eyelashes

Take them off..... right now!

There could be a few reasons why this is the case. It could be down to an allergic reaction – to the eyelashes themselves, or the adhesive. Or you might have irritation already going on (hay fever is a typical one ) which your falsies are making worse.

Bathe your eyes in water that’s been boiled and left to get lukewarm (to remove any nasties), and give your eyes a rest from any makeup for a few days.

If irritation occurs again, visit your doctor to find out what’s going on.
